Photocopied found sounds
More than anything I thought this was as good way, one that tied in with my project, to present the photocopies of 1960s sounds I found in the library.
I really struggled to find found sounds. I originally looked at the places she lived (Coventry, Cambridge and Northampton) but found no success. Then I moved on to life in the 1960s to try and create that aura and atmosphere through the technology and fashion of the time.
I could argue that each of these images make sound, or has sound associated with them. All collected together I can see noise.
Reflecting back I could have perhaps carried out an experiment, recording everything around me that made a sound...
These were images that didn't necessarily make a sound but linked nicely to what I had researched, and visualised what was said in the documentary and what I had read.
