Further Character Design
Here I was trying to experiment by exaggerating features. The face in pink looks a lot like the stereotypical drawings you find at family gatherings and on the street where it is strongly a character. On the figure standing up I gave her a large forehead and have really skinny elbows and angles which accentuates how thin she is. On the guy I accentuated the chin (experimenting with different jaw lines) and moved the mouth a lot higher to further make this prominent. I also drew straight lines for this shoulders to make him seem strong and masculine. The black face exaggerates both his eyes and his chin. I also tried to use lighter "prettier" colours for the girl and darker colours for the guy to test out the tweeness of my Romcom.
Here I was inspired by the artist Julian Opie and the way he does eyes and interprets character design. I tried to use circles for the eyes but added the arch over the eye as I feel they help with expression. I thought his work was interesting because his faces are so simple with minimal features (on the face and clothing) but the hair is block colour (like mine) but has different patches of a different shade which adds detail. I think these are drawn on a Wacom (which I have) so maybe this would be something to look at when doing the digital Gif task.I thought this image already looked quite like my friend which I was drawing hence why it stood out to me from all of the drawings
This is my friend making shapes on the dance floor. I think the use shape was quite a fun was of designing a character. I looked at my photos and tried to simplify the body shape into a shape and then stuck his head onto.
I don't really know where to go from here...
