My tap dances

I recorded 20 videos of me responding through tap dance to the songs of my top 10 bands.

Rattlesnake
5. THE CURE
Lovecats
Boys don't cry
6. JEFFERSON AIRPLANE
Somebody to love
Feeling so pretty
7. BUZZCOCKS

What do I get
8. ELASTICA

The Connection
9. MUDHONEY

10. BEACH BOYS
Surfin' USA
Wouldn't it be nice

This is a natural way that I express music so I thought I should capture it, visualising my response to the songs. Here I am communicating an expressions of the multi-sensory experience that music creates, there, at that time at that moment.

I decided to listen to the music through headphones so that my expressed rhythms are what can be heard, showing that I am in my own music bubble. It also means that I can manipulate this video by adding the actual music behind or take the tap rhythms out.

These videos can now be primary resources to explore. I can manipulate the videos to create a music video etc but I can also use the rhythms and the body language to begin trying to visualise rhythm and sound.

The videos are odd to watch as there is no music behind.
